Don't Wait For It, Go For it
Others may not follow you. It's your responsibility to do the follow up.
Today I ordered another set of business cards. I just make them for the sake anyway. I’ve always heard that the most important thing when it comes to exchanging business cards, it is not a matter of how many cards you give away, it is how many you get and their value. It is possible that a person you give your card will get back to you but most often than not, they don’t. It’s your great responsibility to follow up with your contacts if anything of value is expected to come out of the exchange. So I wouldn’t say don’t have yours to give away, do it but pay much attention to the ones you get.
I am making a special business card. It’s shaped like a book cover. It is actually my book cover for “Be Good For Good”. On the front it is the exact one with no changes. At the back the background image is the exact one of the cover but I remove every other detail i.e. the blurb, my photo, bar code e.t.c. I replace all these with all you can put on a business card. My photo at the top, followed by my name and title and at the bottom my preferred contact details. In the middle I have the image of my podcast.
On the inside of the cover, I put the images of my other two books side by side.
