Persad received her degree in sociology from New York University. She also holds an MBA from the University of Central Florida and a Graduate Diploma in Books, Magazine, and Electronic Publishing. She is the founder of Firewater Media Group and Green Solutions Magazine (2007-2012 online magazine tackling environmental issues through environmental solutions). She is a writer who tackles issues we face in the global community. Her latest book “What Is Coronavirus? How It Infects, How It Spreads, and How to Stay Safe” (ages 12 and up) tackles questions and concerns about the coronavirus and offers public health support by explaining SARS-CoV-2, the diseases it causes, and the steps to keep people safe and curb the spread. Readers also learn about past pandemics and how they ended, offering an optimistic outlook for the future.
